The Karafin Foundation is dedicated to supporting underserved communities and children facing extraordinary challenges. From building schools and libraries in underserved regions to providing direct aid to families with children battling cancer, we believe in creating meaningful change through compassionate action.
Every dollar goes directly to the cause.
Hi, I’m Elona! I am a childhood cancer survivor with a simple goal: to inspire you to live fully and give back to your communities in meaningful ways. When I was 10, I was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma and spent nearly two years in and out of hospitals. That experience shaped my life’s mission – to use my journey to help others in meaningful, lasting ways. I’ve seen firsthand how even a single act of kindness can ignite hope, especially for children and families facing overwhelming challenges. I was once one of those children. That is why I founded the Karafin Foundation – to bring care, support, and joy to those who need it most.
Together with my partners Gina and Dima, this year marks our 11th annual toy drive, a heartfelt tradition dedicated to bringing smiles and hope to kids whose families face financial hardships. Every dollar raised goes directly toward purchasing gifts and toys for children in homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and low-income communities. Your support means more than just a present – it means love, joy, and the magic of the holidays for a child who needs it most.
We partnered with The Local Literacy Project, to fund a school curriculum and a library in Afghanistan, providing crucial education to children in a region where access has been severely restricted. Despite the risks, dedicated volunteers continue to teach, supported by donations that cover essential supplies, food, books, and teacher’s salaries. This project ensures students can learn in a safe environment, creating a brighter future despite the challenges.
To provide hope, resources, and support to underserved children and families, empowering them to overcome adversity and thrive.
A world where every child has access to the opportunities and support needed to build a brighter future.
To deliver meaningful aid and create sustainable change through acts of compassion.
